GMG To Sell Bloodline Champions Prepaid Cards

Digital currency card publisher GMG Entertainment signed an exclusive agreement with Funcom to roll out prepaid cards for upcoming MMO Bloodline Champions to stores in North America, Europe, Scandinavia, and Australia.

Developed by Swedish outfit Stunlock Studios, Bloodline Champions is a competitive online multiplayer arena combat game. Funcom, which has also published MMOs like Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and Anarchy Online, hasn't announced a release date, but the title already has over 150,000 registered beta players.

Though Bloodline Champions is a free-to-play game with microtransactions, Funcom is offering two "core versions": a $29.99 pack that includes 16 bloodlines classes and the option to spend $9.99 for four more Bloodlines (free client includes four Bloodlines on a weekly rotation), and an $89.99 edition with all 20 bloodlines and other bonuses.

"After evaluating the international market for digital currency cards we are very pleased to have selected GMG as our partner for Bloodline Champions," says Funcom's Sales and Marketing VP Morten Larssen. Founded in 2002, GMG provides digital currency cards for a variety of virtual goods marketplaces. Its digital partners include Facebook, Meez, THQ, and many others.

Larsenn adds, "Their know-how of the retail market, international foothold and passionate understanding of our product made this a clear choice for us. We very much look forward to offering the fans of our game the flexibility that these store cards represent."
